ENTEBBE:-Former Secretary to the treasury Chris Kassami has died. Kassami died today. He served as Secretary to the treasury for at least 20 years.

Kassami who retired in 2013 has been living a quiet and private life.

Chris Kassami joined Ministry of Finance in 1972 and served at some point as permanent secretary of Education, Works and Finance. He was in public service for at least 40 years.

Kassami died at the age of 68. When retiring in 2013 he said “I am 65 years old and it�s time to take rest from official work to concentrate on other things.
