Aspiring candidate for Sports Club Villa’s presidency Lawyer Medard Ssegona has pledged to bring all leading politicians to join one of Uganda’s most successful clubs in history, SC Villa.
Segona who has never been known in sports circles took the country by surprise when he announced his bid. Yesterday he announced his team that he says will drive Villa back to its glorious days.
Announcing his plans, Ssegona said he wants to draft in key politicians to the club before he retires.
“If I can persuade Hon. Kyagulanyi, President Museveni, Nobert Mao and many others to join SC Villa, I will be able to retire in peace,” Ssegona said.
Medard Segona faces competition from Dennis Mbidde Sebugwawo who is a name long associated with sports.
Mbidde has accused Ssegona of being heavily involved in opposition politics, which will prove costly for SC Villa whose fans prefer that it remains non-partisan.
