Patrick Ssenyonjo aka Fresh Kid is the newest youngest rapper on the Ugandan music industry.
However, Nakiwala Florence Kiyingi the Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs is not impressed with the idea of Fresh kid moving around media houses doing interviews instead of focusing on his studies.
In a recent interview with NBS UNCUT program, the minister advised the management of Fresh Kid to take the toddler to school and stop him from performing.
However, a section of artistes have come out to defend fresh kid and his management.
Singer Irene Namatovu said Minister should let the kid be but rather come up with guide lines on what the child should do to balance both school and his career.
“Fresh Kid is talented and like any young star, he is using his talent to earn money which is benefiting him and his family as well. He cannot stop now but it’s just a matter of coming up with guide lines to help the young boy balance music and other things,” said Namatovu.
Local Artist Kapale said on a television interview that Fresh Kid is a child from the ghetto and he just can’t go back to the ghetto after rising to the level he is on.
“Let him get the right management and things will just be fine with him, “adds Kapale.
However, they advised fresh kid to love school because he needs it to get to higher levels of his music career.
