KAMPALA-Maverick lawyer Male Mabirizi has vehemently denied being compromised by Pastor Aloysius Bugingo at Entebbe Grade One Magistrate court.

Earlier this week, word started going around that Mabirizi had been paid off by Pastor Bugingo in relation to the case which if rule against him could see Bugingo and his lover Makula serve a maximum term of five years in jail. The case against Bugingo and Makula is on three counts related to conducting an illegal marriage when married.

The rumors which have spread like bush fire also alleged that the judge, a one Mulangira in Bugingo’s divorce case which was filed by his wife Pastor Teddy Bugingo had been compromised.

For starters we called up Mabirizi this morning and he strongly denied being compromised by Bugingo.

“That rumor is most likely being spread by Pastor Bugingo’s people to either make people lose interest in the case or they may be planning to approach me so they are making a script that they intend to use to persuade me. But look, I can never get off that case. The case has merit in the public interest. Many illegal marriages have been taking place and people have been misled. Let court rule on this once and for all, so that people stop playing around with marriage,” a furious Mabirizi said.

The statement from Mabirizi settles this rumor for the time being.

Meanwhile social media continues to ridicule Bugingo for the numerous inconsistencies in his statements. This morning, pressure also piled up on Pastor Simeon Kayiwa, a confidant of Bugingo, who has now been forced to retract statements he has made in the past concerning the function which was clearly a cultural marriage of Bugingo and Makula at Makula’s relatives place.

According to Kayiwa, the function he went to with Pastor Bugingo, was a get-together party on invitation from Bugingo where he was invited as a friend to lead prayers.

“I went there to pray. Everyone must be prayed for even if he/she is condemned to death. So I went there to pray and bless the family of those who invited me.It was a get-together for Bugingo’s friends. I didn’t escort anyone but went to pray. There was a dress code and it was being given for free so I didn’t want to be the odd man out and I also put on,” said Kayiwa.

Here is Kayiwa’s video:

Pastor Kayiwa’s statement varies from this video which his protege Pastor Bugingo is clearly seen preparing the world for his customary/traditional marriage that he now vehemently denies.

In a related development, a screenshot doing rounds on social media of socialite Frank Gashumba who also escorted Pastor Bugingo and has been a leading supporter of this felony, shows that he might have abandoned the controversial pastor.

The question we may ask is if there are attempts to compromise Male Mabirizi and Judge Mulangira, could money have driven those who escorted Pastor Bugingo to attend an illegal marriage and then change their statements in the wake of the court case?
