The Congregation of House of Prayer Ministries was taken aback on Sunday when Pastor Aloysius Bugingo abandoned the normal biblical scriptures, by fundraising for his house.
In a clear sign that he might be losing focus, the hitherto celebrated Pastor took to the pulpit and told his followers that he needed their support to raise money for his church. Throughout the service, they brought money which was strictly taken to a kitty for his house.
“This is unbelievable. A house which does not concern any of us is being placed right in front of us for us to raise money. We have needs, the church has needs,” Catherine Twinamatsiko, a member of the Church told this newspaper.
The house which is rumored to be in the region of 2 billion shillings has taken precedent over the Pentagon fundraiser. Pentagon is the new building that was due to be constructed very soon. House of Prayer Ministries has been running advertisements encouraging people to contribute to the constructing of the Pentagon.
Moving away from scriptures to his own affairs has made it difficult for Pastor Bugingo to persuade especially new members that he is speaking in the interest of the church.
Pastor Bugingo’s new house is located on 10 acres of land at Nakedde village, Namayumba sub county, Wakiso District.
