Monday Times: What do you call yourself Fyona Sparkle?

Fyona Sparkle: My real name is Fyona Byabazaire.I used to be called Fyona Zaire. But when I was in Kream Production, one writer called John K and Haruna Mubiru heard me singing in the studio. They saw that I was signing so well. John K suggested that I am called Sparkle. I bought the idea and I became called Fyona Sparkle.

Monday Times:  When did you start singing?

Fyona Sparkle: The talent is in my blood. Last year in my senior six vacation, I joined Kream Production. I used to sing in school and I can also compose songs.

Monday Times: What type of music do you sing?

Fyona Sparkle: I sing Afro Band and Band Ballads

Monday Times: What are the songs you have sang and released?

Fyona Sparkle: I have done ‘ndi ku chuupa’, written by John K and recorded at Surface Records.It was produced by Isma Pro.I have also released ‘nyagwire’ written by John K and produced by Josh One in Audio One

Monday Times: Why did you leave Kream?

Fyona Sparkle: I felt like growing. At Kream they taught us a lot of things in Kream and I thought now I can fly.

I also needed time for books to read. I am on campus yet we had a lot of tours. We could go away from Kampala for like three months.

Monday Times: What are you studying?

Fyona Sparkle: I am pursuing a Bachelor of Drama and Film Arts at Makerere University. I am in Second Year.

Monday Times: What challenges have you faced as a musician?

Fyona Sparkle: People write things they do not know about just because it is trending and they want to sell their stories.

Also music needs a lot of money. People expect a lot from you yet sometimes you do not have. They cannot imagine that you do not have.

Monday Times: Where do you see yourself in five years?

Fyona Sparkle: I will be bigger than this. I will be taking on a new big step.
