Irene Nanziri Sseremba is a multitalented film star. She is an actress, script supervisor, script writer and director. She works with Holly Images in Kampala. She was born on 2nd January 1993.
Irene Nanziri Sseremba was inspired by her father’s legacy. Her father who passed away was an actor. She says that her father loved her so much as his last daughter. She wanted his dreams, aspirations and love for acting to continue through her. “I think he is at peace now wherever he is knowing that I am a film personality.” Besides my father’s inspiration, I wanted to be a source of inspiration to people from all walks of life and a role model to many who could find inspiration through my work in film.
She studied at Blessed Primary School, before I went to Bank Hill Collage. I also went to St.Mary’s new hope Secondary School before I went for a B.Y.E.C. (a Certificate in graphics design). Finally she went to Y.M.C.A. to do a Diploma in Journalism.
Since she started acting, she has featured in the following films

My Choice (Sigwe Ansimila) 2015 (where she played a role as a supporting actress called Milly)
Wife 2016 ( where she played a supporting role as Jena)
The Dream 2017 (where she played a main supporting role as Shiko).This was a Kenyan Project
My Kingdom 2017 TV series (where she played a role as an extra as a maid)
My Deing Wife 2017 (where she played an extra as a nurse)
Dilemma 2017 (where she played a supporting role as Juliet)
He ruined my future (where she played a lead role as a female called Maggie)

Irene Nanziri Sseremba spoke about the film industry in Uganda. She says firstly there are more committed and serious people in the business now which has improved the quality of works, production and output.There are more high quality films than there were before.
The film fraternity/family is good to each other and the directors are welcoming and the best I have ever worked with.
Actors give their best on each project they are given.They are willing and optimistic about what they do and are very keen on learning.
On the down side actors and film practitioners are very poor time managers.There are also limited resources for example equipment. Actors and actresses are still paid very little money.
There is also a challenge of misjudgment by the non film people that film practitioners are thieves and hooligans. This at times makes them miss out on many locations like houses and hotels where the owners do not trust them with their property.
As a film personality, her major attributes are that she is very passionate about acting. She is determined and has confidence. She also invests in her abilities.
Irene Nanziri Sseremba is quick to tell us that she has some weaknesses. “My friends say that I am self-centered,” she says.
In her career she wishes to work with Florence Nampijja, Mageye Hassan,Mutebi Farouk, Stephen Okeleke, Scarlett Ortiz and Denzel Washington.
Her favorite movies are Yat Madit, My 3 sisters, and Jane the Virgin.
In her parting message, she wanted to give advice to aspiring actresses. She says that they should “join the industry with love and passion and not because of money or failures in life.
Her best quotes are “if u believe u can achieve” or “never compare yourself with anyone”.
