Various journalists have received the new Uganda Police Force Spokesperson Fred Enanga, with mixed reactions. Enanga who was dropped by former Inspector General of Police Gen.Kale Kayihura several months ago was reinstated last week by IGP Martin Okoth Ochola.
Some of his friends in the journalism fraternity were excited by his return, while others said he need to improve his reliability in order to serve them with information that the public wants.
“Unless he changes, I am not excited about Enanga’s reappointment. When Enanga was PRO, it was the time when people were being attacked at their gates in the areas of Naalya, Najjera and so on. A journalist would call Enanga and he would not be forthcoming with information. He would say let me call you back and he would not,” Dalton Kaweesi a television journalist spoke of Enanga’s appointment.
Fred Enanga replaced Emilian Kayima, who has been sent to the publications department. He will be deputized by Polly Namaye, who has also been reinstated as deputy Police spokesperson.
IGP Ochola has made several sweeping changes in the forces as he reorganizes his team to improve its performance in different areas.
