SEOUL-South Korean military officials are on tenterhooks, after it became evident that North Korea has obtained detailed war plans drawn by Seoul and the United States. The plans are connected to the US and South Korea preparations for an attack on Pyongyang.

The classic military documents were hacked from the Defense Ministry in September 2016. At least 235 gigabytes of data were stolen in one of the biggest espionage mission online in this history of the Korean crisis.

The hacking reports were disclosed by Rhee Cheol-Hee of the National Assembly in South Korea. The Pentagon and the South Korean defense ministry have remained silent on the claims.

South Korea-US wartime operational plan and plans to ‘decapitate’ Kim Jong Un and members of his leadership were part of the documents. At least 15 million pages of documents, photos and videos of North Korea and the preparation to attack it were within the hacked material.

Jang Se-Yul,a North Korean “hacking expert” who defected from Pyong Yang has previously told news media that “North Korea has advanced hacking skills.” “This was a very simple mission compared on what North Korea is capable of doing with computer espionage,it it intends to,” Se-Yul observes.
