51 evacuees from Afghanistan this morning arrived at Entebbe Airport before they were whisked off to Imperial Resort Beach Hotel Entebbe.
The evacuees were escorted with heavy security supplied by the Uganda Police Force.
Uganda expects at least 2,000 refugees and more are expected to come. The arrival of the evacuees who were fleeing from the fall of government in Afghanistan commences an agreement Uganda made to host them after being requested by the United States Government.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Republic of Uganda issued a statement related to the arrival of the evacuees.
The evacuees are expected to spend a few days before heading to the United States.
