New York City governor Andrew Cuomo has apologized for offending those who have been offended by off the cuff remarks he has made to women in public or private.

Cuomo who has since been hit by allegations from a second former aide that he made sexually seductive remarks to her is struggling to wade of allegations that he as a repeat sexual harassment offender.

The latest claims come from Charlotte Bennett, 25, a former aide of Cuomo, who says that Cuomo once asked her if she “had ever been with an older man.” In her words she felt that he was making advances towards her, a claim that Cuomo has since denied.

Speaking to the New York Times, Cuomo said he had “never made advances towards Ms. Bennett, nor did I ever intend to act in any way that was inappropriate.” However, Ms. Bennett says that his actions made her feel that he wanted to sleep with her, something that made her raise complaints to some of his officials.

“I understood that the governor wanted to sleep with me, and felt horribly uncomfortable and scared,” Ms. Bennett said.

Cuomo has since apologized and asked for an independent investigation into the matter.
