In a recent first, The High Court in Kampala shall rule next Wednesday on the ownership of the National Unity and Reconciliation and Development Party (NURP), which has mutated into National Unity Platform (NUP) now led by presidential aspirant, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine. The ruling which was set for Friday October 16, 2020 will now be given by email on Wednesday October 21, 2020.

Judiciary Communications Officer Solomon Muyita says that the Judge received the final submissions from both sides in the case, on Tuesday this week, and this affected the time of going through them.

Two of the founders, Mr Difas Basile and Mr Hassan Twala, petitioned the High Court in Kampala claiming that the party leadership and ownership was not lawfully handed over to Bobi Wine. Basile and Twali aver that the entire process of changing the party leadership and ownership was done by Mr Moses Nkonge Kibalama, the founding president of the party, excluded them.
