Sanyu FM (88.2) is set to rule airwaves in Uganda after its owners decided to recruit the most celebrated presenters in the country.

The Radio station falls under the Ruparelia Group of Companies owned by property mogul, Sudhir Ruparelia.

The move to refurbish one of the oldest radio stations in Uganda follows the exit of senior staff aka untouchables who were forced out after protesting 25% salary cut by management.

To fill the void, the station’s management has gone on to hunt the best talent with Patrick Idringi, known as Patrick Salvado replacing James Onen aka Fat Boy on a temporary basis for one of the best breakfast Shows in Uganda that runs from 6-10am Monday to Friday.

The latest is that legendary Roger Mugisha has also joined Sanyu FM  as Programs Director.

Mugisha and Salvado have also been joined by Tina Fierce who quit Vision Group’s Urban TV and Isaac Katende aka Kasuku, who quit Nation Media Group’s Dembe FM to join Sanyu FM, although many more others are expected to join the fresh and reenergized team.

It should be noted that after James Onen aka Fat Boy rallied others to lay down their tools last week, tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia, who owns the radio station, decided to fire all of them and advised those who still wanted their jobs to reapply.

The move also helped management to attract new talent by advertising all the jobs of the former employees who had quit, which has given the likes of Mugisha, Salvado, Kasuku and others an opportunity to join Sanyu FM, which is one of the leading pioneer FM stations in Uganda.

Owned under the Ruparelia Group, Sanyu FM is the pioneer private FM radio station in East and central Africa, broadcasting with a footprint of 100 KM radius around Kampala, on the frequency of 88.2 Mhz, and another 100KM footprint around Mbale, on the frequency of 96.4 Mhz.

The Station has over its 20-year existence maintained its position as a leading radio station in Uganda with its strength rooted from the unique, clearly differentiated mix of music, top-notch presenters and hourly news updates.

Sanyu FM is an urban youth station targeting the 18-35-year-old in the ABC1-C2 socio-economic group and is currently under the stewardship of Rajiv Ruparelia as the Managing Director.
