Vision Groups’ Urban TV has suspended Tina Fierce’s ‘Scoop on Scoop’ program after legal threats from Sheilah Gashumba and her boyfriend Marcus All Lwanga alias God’s Plan.
According to tweets on various platforms of Urban TV and Vision Group, Tina Fierce’s show was suspended yesterday on Monday evening and her employers said the show will not be on television till further notice.
However, her employers didn’t explain reasons for the suspension of the show though according to some media interactions many guess this was after Sheila Gashumba’s heat on the station.
Last week, Sheilah and God’s Plan through their lawyers, Balondemu and Co. Advocates issued notice of intention to sue to Urban TV ‘Scoop on Scoop’ presenter, Christine Karungi alias Tina Fierce, demanding an apology and 400m on 14 days or drag her to court for spreading scandalous and harmful propaganda which they claim lowered their reputation.
According to Sheila and her boyfriend, they allegedly hired a private investigator to test Tina Fierce if she would insult her for money. She apparently did for 100k (about $30) hence corruption to defame.
This forced soft spoken Sheila to seek public apology from Tina before suing her which Tina turned down saying she doesn’t know if she could ever apologize to Sheila who went ahead to sue for sh400 million compasation.
The mother of three, Tina responded by asking her fans to raise the money adding the fundraising is ongoing.
However, Sheila was serious, and using her powerful social media power, she appealed to Tina Fierce’s boss Robert Kabushenga and regulator Uganda Communications Commission, to call the presenter to order. She said she underwent depression over Tina’s insults.
In her various tweets of yesterday Sheila tweeted one where she expressed her joy saying Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) officials picked interest in the case and met her lawyers to find a solution to social media bullying.
It should be remembered that the route cause of all these is when Urban TV’s Scoop on Scoop show host Tina real name Christine Karungi allegedly used her platform to accuse Sheila Gashumba of carrying out abortions, being a prostitute among other defamatory utterances.
Gashumba has for days been struggling on social media to clear her name however after failing to succeed in social media battle, the former NTV Da Beat co-host and her boyfriend decided to take legal means and through their lawyers, they served Tina and asked her to apologize publicly or face law and compensate Sheila shs400million for defamatory utterances on air.
