Capital Radio scores highly in survey

The latest audience research survey released by independent media firm IPSOS has shown that Capital Radio (91.3 Kampala) is the leading English listening radio station in Kampala.

The survey resonates with another one done by Geopoll a few weeks ago, which placed Capital as the leading English language station in Central Region of Uganda.

The survey released last week captures data from all parts of Kampala.

It indicates that Capital Radio is preferred by 9.7% of the respondents accessed, followed by KFM which enjoys 8.9% respondents preference.

In third position is Radio One with 3.5% while Sanyu FM registered 2.7% at number 4. Radio City came fifth with 2.0% followed by XFM with 1.00% and Power FM at 1.0% in sixth and seventh positions respectively.

According to IPSOS, the survey was carried out with a methodology that included; “Day After Recall Approach using telephone interviews to measure Listenership Habits of an individual. Telephone interviews were randomly selected and an individual was interviewed for his/her listening habits in general and previous day specific. Computer Assisted Telephone Interview approach was used allowing interviewers to read questions and enter responses using a computer. The system also records the interviews.”

Capital Radio has maintained a market dominance since it started broadcasting in 1994. It is owned by Capital Radio Limited.
