We visited Iruro Hair and Styles Salon in Mutungo where we spoke to the proprietor Mr.Irumba Ronald. A very nice gentleman, he told Shillah Nekesa about how his salon is organized and the unique things that make him tick.
Shillah Nekesa: What exactly does your salon do, Mr.Irumba?
Irumba Ronald: We do all kinds of hairstyles for both men and women. So you can call us a unisex salon. We do dreadlocks, we do retouch, we do pedicure and manicure, we have bridal services, we do make up and above all we cut hair for both adults and kids.
We are a one stop centre for dreadlocks.
Shillah Nekesa: How different are you from others who are in this kind of business?
Irumba Ronald: We have very good service/quality. Whoever comes here does not get disappointed. You could ask a few of them and they will attest to this.
Shillah Nekesa: Do you go out to work on clients away from here?
Irumba Ronald: Yes I do. I am very flexible but at a cost. I can even go up country if we agree on price.
Shillah Nekesa: What challenges do you face in running this business?
Irumba Ronald: I do face a challenge of people who do not know what they want
Shillah Nekesa: What are your strong points as an individual running this business?
Irumba Ronald: I am confident of myself,I do not give disappointments to the people I work with.
Shillah Nekesa: What advice do you give someone who is trying to join your business?
Irumba Ronald: They should go to school first. This industry is not easy because they might get disappointed. They also need to have passion.
