Father Simon Lokodo, the Minister for Ethics and Integrity has finalized plans to regulate mainstream churches, after the Pastor Aloysius Bugingo scandals gave him more momentum. Sources at the Minister’s office, which falls under the office of the president, say that Lokodo, who had been looking for more credible reasons to push forward the regulations, found Bugingo’s scandals too appetizing for the project.

“Father Lokodo is submitting his regulations to cabinet anytime soon, and after that we can safely say, the churches will be full regulated,” our source at the Minister’s office told this newspaper.

It can be remembered that when Father Lokodo came up with the regulations to monitor and moderate churches, Pastor Bugingo was one of the most outspoken against it. He said that Lokodo was working with Pastor Joseph Serwadda, to fight him. He spent days on his pulpit at House of Prayer attacking Lokodo and Serwadda. Lokodo decided to go slow.

“With the current saga, which shows that Bugingo might not be fit to even lead a church in a local village, Lokodo cannot fail to persuade cabinet to pass this laws,” our source intimated to this newspaper.
