KAMPALA-Top celebrities Irene Ntale, Maurice Kirya and Anne Kansiime were on Monday appointed as goodwill ambassadors to preach against poaching. The three were drafted for an undisclosed sum of money that shall facilitate their movement to spread the word against poaching.

Speaking to the media at the launch of the campaign, Ntale said that wildlife cannot speak so it needs people who can speak and champion their existence.
“They cannot speak for themselves, let’s speak for them”, Irene Ntale was quoted in her speech at the launch of the campaign. The campaign initiators were also supported by Uganda Conservation Foundation and World Aid, a non profit organisation whose mission is to cub illegal wildlife trade.
The intention is to create awareness about the dangers of poaching to wildlife and Ugandan as a whole.
Irene Ntale has over the last five years built an impressive music career. Her counterpart Maurice Kirya continues to thrill audiences across the world with his brand of music. Anne Kansiime is believed to be Uganda’s most followed public figure online.
