Papaz Spot is a brand new experience and location for the best African dishes and wonderful customer care. It is owned by celebrated singer Mesach Semakula. As such the spot attracts many celebrities and other people looking for a good time. Today we visited Papaz Spot and spoke to Mesach Semakula who told us about the place.
Monday Times: Good morning Mesach. You have a fantastic place here. Tell us about what you have.
Mesach Semakula: At Papaz Spot we do local dishes our local dishes we don’t fry. We do mostly boiled. We do breakfast, lunch, and supper. We have continentals, like Chips Chicken, Chips Liver, Chips Sausage and we do tea, if you want Coffee Black Coffee, African Tea, Black Tea, any kind of tea. We also have a bar here, we have a bar, mostly the bar opens in the evening but because of the pandemic, now we are not that active. Then we do juice, passion, we do cocktail, and we can hold parties, because we have enough space here. We can hold like three parties, birthday parties. So it is a hang out place. You can come and spend your evening, with your partner, even during day.
We have a strong local flavor. We have Matooke, we have Pilau, Chicken, Potatoes, all our local foods, and we do pasted beef, here we put beef in groundnuts, we have dry fish Luwombo, we have Chicken Luwombo. We also have sauce in boxes like in the olden days. We have beans we have goat muchomo, and many other varieties.
Monday Times: How different are you from other places like this?
Mesach Semakula: We do cook good food and we maintain that natural taste. If it is chicken, we don’t over spice you know. We also try as much as possible to give our people boiled things. We don’t fry. So it is healthy. And our customer care is very good. And everyone who is talking about it .
We are clean and hygenic. We stick to our local taste. We do not want those things that are Western.
Monday Times: What are your opening hours and days?
Mesach Semakula: We are open from Monday to Sunday, 24 hours a day except during this pandemic period where we open until curfew time. But in normal days it is 24/7.
