KAMPALA-Although social media pictures of her battered self sailed through over the weekend, the Uganda Police Force has come out to deny assaulting Singer Spice Diana.

On the contrary, speaking through Kampala Metropolitan Spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, police accuses Spice Diana and her manager of assaulting a Police officer who was on duty. This they add occurred during the Kampala City Carnival where they tried to enter the premises without being subjected to security checks.

Kayima says, “The singer refused to comply with rules of security; she and her manager Lubega resisted the Police check and wanted to force their way into the venue.” Further, “Spice Diana singer refused to comply with rules of security; she and her manager Lubega resisted the Police check and wanted to force their way into the venue.”

Spice Diana aka Hajara Mukwaya heaps blame on the police. “After my first performance at the carnival, I was beaten badly and disrespected by ruthless Police officers and I am nursing wounds,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

Unlike other musicians, Spice Diana has not had a history of brushes with the law. The ‘Onsanula’ singer is “well behaved,” according to her manager who called Monday Times to give their side of the story.
